These happy fellows are a sample of around the 1400 underprivileged kids that stood in line to the gift giveaway that we do with our neighborhood church and partner in the gospel - Hope International. The kids started lining up to the annual event we host at noon, even though the toy give away doesn't start until 6 p.m. By 2 p.m. there were already over a 100 kids. Before we opened the doors to let people in, the line went from where our church is at Fountain and Edgemont all the way to Sunset Blvd - a full city block!
When they go through the line, the children get school supplies, a backpack, some clothes, and then they get to pick toys from the main floor, from skateboards to stuffed animals. Last year we served over 1400 kids. It seems as if the word spreads and every year more kids join us at this event.
To find out more about the event, or to see how you can help this upcoming holiday season, contact Shalom Sanchez or ask someone at kairos their testimony about it from previous years!
